Hydroelectric Projects
Apply For a Permit
Early consultation with ADF&G Habitat Biologists is an important step before proceeding with development and operational plans for a hydroelectric project. Habitat Biologists can assist the applicant in the design of study plans for collecting data on fish, wildlife, and water resources in the project area and provide recommendations for protecting fish and fish habitat.
To apply for a Fish Habitat Permit, download and complete the permit application on this page, and return the completed application to the Habitat Section area office closest to your project in person, by postal mail, or by email. Be sure to provide a detailed description of your proposed activity or project and attach any supporting information such as maps or diagrams.
For additional information contact the Habitat Section area office closest to your project.
