Kodiak Archipelago Bear Conservation and Management Plan
Overview

The Alaska Department of Fish & Game, Region II, conducted a public planning process for the management of bears in the Kodiak archipelago. As part of that process, a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) was created to develop a management plan for Kodiak bears. The recommendations made by this committee will be reviewed and implemented by an Interagency Planning Group comprising the land and resource managers having the authority to do so.

The Kodiak Archipelago Bear Conservation and Management Plan (see Plan Summary) is an example of how hard work and collaboration can benefit both people and bears.
