During the last 10 days we have received locations for 3 bearded, 1 ringed, and 1 spotted seal. All bearded and ringed seals are still in areas with sea ice and generally near land. The spotted seal (SS17-02-M, blue circle) continues to move throughout the central Bering Sea. During the last 10 days this seal moved from the open water of the central Bering Sea to the southeast corner of St. Lawrence Island where it hauled out on ice multiple times before moving south into open water. Sea ice data are courtesy of the NASA Rapid Response Network, dated 3 April (https://earthdata.nasa.gov/earth-observation-data/near-real-time/rapid-response).
