ADF&G Habitat Biologists are available to help you with the application process. Please contact the Habitat SectIon office closest to your project for assistance.
To apply for a Fish Habitat Permit, download and complete the permit application on this page, and return the completed application to the Habitat Section office closest to your project in person, by postal mail, or by email. Be sure to provide a detailed description of your proposed activity or project and attach any supporting information such as maps or diagrams.
Projects that require diversion or dewatering may require an Aquatic Resource Permit for relocating fish prior to in-water work. Contact your local Habitat Section office or the Aquatic Resource Permit coordinator for more information.
Other Authorizations:
Please be advised that certain activities may also require additional authorizations from other state, federal, or local agencies, including:
- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers ;
- Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation ; and
- Alaska Department of Natural Resources : Division of Mining Land and Water
- Local Governments (Municipality of Anchorage, Kenai Peninsula Borough, City and Borough of Juneau, etc.)
These agencies should be contacted directly for information on their permitting requirements.
